Behind the Camera

Okay so, who am I? A first-gen Jamaican, youngest and only boy raised by my two older sisters and my mother (practically three mothers). Inspired by my family of 99.99% nurses to study medicine in college, I managed to make it out alive on the pre-med track, but realized I didn’t like school enough to be a student for another 10+ years, secretly dreaming of becoming  an orthopedic surgeon for the New York Giants. Ultimately, I ended up combining two passions of mine, technology and medicine, pursuing my bachelor’s & master’s degrees at Stony Brook University, where I met the love of my life.

Growing up, my mother always instilled having hobbies as long as my grades were good. Multiple attempts at picking up an instrument, learning a new language, playing a new sport or video game with friends, engaging in new hobbies, I’m in there. She didn’t come from Jamaica to raise a boring one-dimensional child after all. I never feared failing when trying something new, and she’s where my spontaneous, adventuring spirit comes from (don’t tell her that, her head might get too big). The best part of trying new things for me is when I find something I can really sink my teeth into. It might be the prospect of the “new” that brings me to the table, but it’s the details that keep me there, hungry for more. This is what drew me to photography.

It’s my technical curiosity and ambition for learning new techniques that started my journey and my attention to detail that has sustained me. There’s a certain amount of attention that’s required to capture “the moment” and I pride myself on my ability to capture your moments in their purest form. From the minor details; a wink, a smirk, a tear; to the major milestones, the first steps down the aisle, the first dance; I got you. I remember how nervous my fiance and I were when trying to find our photographer, it can be stressful! All the more reason why it is important to me that all of my clients feel special and taken care of.

Thank you in advance for trusting me with your special moments!

To every prospective client, let’s do this thing.
